Disperse dyes are synthetic dyes that are less soluble in water and are commonly used for dyeing synthetic as well as hydrophobic materials such as polyester fibers or nylon. Disperse dyes will yield best results if the dyeing process are being carried out in high temperature (120ºC-130ºC).
Unlike other types of dyes, disperse dyes are less soluble in water. Therefore, in order to function properly, disperse dyes require the use of dispersing agents during the coloration process.
